About Kaiser Permanente’s Professional Development Institute 2023 – CONNECT
The theme of Kaiser Permanente’s 6th Annual Professional Development Institute (PDI) was CONNECT. PDI is a National Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity department initiative hosted by its thirteen Business Resource Groups. During this three-day virtual conference, Kaiser employees attend a series of presentations by leaders recognized for their success who share nuggets of wisdom they have learned along their career journeys.
This presentation format allows participants to forge meaningful connections that foster a collaborative network across the organization. Each session offers valuable perspectives on a different hallmark of professional development. What’s more, leaders prepare interactive activities and opportunities for attending these workshops to further enhance the participant experience. At the heart of 2023’s Professional Development Institute is a purposeful connection for all Kaiser employees that fuels growth, inspiration, and success.
Nani’s role in the 2023 Professional Development Institute
As the Enterprise Communications Chair for the Generations@KP Business Resource Group, Nani was responsible for communications planning for the event, as well as creating branded artifacts for marketing materials. In addition to posting on Kaiser’s social media platform, Viva Engage, to promote each speaker for this three-day event, she also created the logo and PowerPoint presentation template to create a cohesive brand identity. Furthermore, she performed outreach to ensure each Business Resource Group had at least one speaker scheduled to represent their cohort. Generations@KP is considered the ‘center of excellence’ for all other Business Resource Groups, and sets the precedence for goals and performance for its twelve sister Business Resource Groups.
A look ahead
Nani’s participation in planning this event helped Generations@KP exceed their goals for attendance, feedback, and drive membership and engagement. In 2024, the annual Professional Development Institute event will continue with a subsequent theme that builds on the success of 2023’s CONNECT theme.
