Are you in need of healthier coping mechanisms for managing stress?
100% of people who have been inside my home this year have commented on how clean it is. While I gladly accept these flowers, I also feel it necessary to explain my OCD. This year, I learned that cleaning and organizing are two (healthy and) highly effective ways to manage stress. When life gets chaotic, grooming my little corner of the world is therapeutic. Moreover, nurturing my environment sets me up for a good balance of wellness and productivity.
Over the last few months, I’ve spent an absurd amount of time reorganizing my digital filing system. Learning about Notion‘s endless functionalities and customization features has significantly reduced my stress and improved my productivity. Although this platform has a learning curve, familiarizing yourself with it can change your life in all the best ways.
How Notion can improve your stress management & productivity
I fell so in love with its operational infrastructure that I now use it for all my projects, client workspaces, and class notes. Furthermore, I consolidated all these different databases into one unnecessarily aesthetic dashboard that gives me a daily overview of everything pulling on my attention. This way, I’m not as stressed out about tracking my to dos and staying on top of project milestones.
Needless to say, my Notion dashboard has become the homepage of my entire life. Notion’s mobile app has a cute widget that lets me easily access files, add items to my master to-do list, and capture fleeting thoughts wherever I am. In less than two taps, I can check off small tasks that contribute to larger projects and goals on the go. In the same fashion, I can pull up any files or notes I need with a simple Ctrl+F search.
Manage stress through your daily routine
Notion’s functionality has allowed me to solidify my daily routine, which has worked wonders for my mental health. In short, 2023 was a really hard year for me. So, I’m grateful to have found a home base in 2024 that I can continuously return to when life feels out of control.
On that note, if you’re as into routine and organization as I am, I also recommend calendar blocking. It can feel overwhelming at first, but once you get into it you’ll find it’s an incredibly effective time management technique. If you want to boost productivity, minimize distractions, and avoid extended periods of brain fog, try time blocking!
